I trained at Merrist Wood College in Guildford but as you can see from the photograph I was gardening for some time before that - this was taken in 1956! Must have been my "Hyacinth Period". Since then I have been involved with several more gardens of my own from a balcony (you'd be amazed) to a sloping half acre complete with Koi pond and small woodland. All these I have developed and maintained myself and this reflects in my designs. They are not only good ot look at and live in but are also practical - I understand the importance of easy maintenance in this busy world.
